While the print media was objective in its critique, most television channels indulged in cynical debates. The children of the nation gave a befitting reply to skeptical television anchors and the crab mentality( If we couldn't do it, neither should you) of the opposition by turning out in huge numbers. Barring a few, majority of the teachers and children across the nation felt happy interacting with their PM for the first time.
In view of the above ground realities, what message did we give to our young television viewers by politicizing the interaction? Is President Obama criticized endlessly on national television when he talks to school children?

I really liked the way he interacted with the kids and it's even nice to see the kids reciprocating. Media should be wise enough to understand which issues need people's attention. But all said and done, he shouldn't have made the whole thing mandatory, there should be a choice.

DeleteFor sixty yrs we were forced to celebrate such days with Cahcha Nehru's image....We were given no choice as it was always a NEHRU --GANDHI who anchored our lives.

As for TV channels,it seems,over the years congress had invested in media and the result is there see.But,I am very optimistic and do see a change coming in future
The channels should stop creating an atmosphere of perpetual unease. Always giving us a feeling that things are wrong.
DeleteAbsolutely, another sign of how the definition of Media is changing from bad to worse. Like you rightly pointed out the way the focus on trivial events is now becoming prime news and is beaten to death, it makes me wonder if this country has really forgotten what the bigger picture of progress and development really is

I think our MEDIA needs to grow up and behave, They need to get their priorities right .. I have stopped listening to indian news and read newspapers because of this they repeat one thing endlessly and miss on More important stuff that is going on in the nation
